Today, We Mastered the Game of Go (via Google China Blog)
In January 2016, DeepMind's AlphaGo defeated European Go champion Fan Hui 5–0, becoming the first program to beat a professional player on a full-sized board. Reposted here from the Google China Blog, this announcement explains how it combines Monte Carlo tree search with policy and value networks. It also includes records of all five games and links to replay them online, to be studied closely ahead of the March match against Lee Sedol.
