Not This Again
In May 2016, Australian businessman Craig Wright claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto, and Bitcoin Foundation chief scientist Gavin Andresen personally vouched for him. Proving that claim takes just one step: publicly signing a message with the private key behind the address in Bitcoin's first block. Craig signed Sartre's famous line from his refusal of the Nobel Prize, but on closer inspection it was nothing more than an OpenSSL demo, and the private key wasn't Satoshi's at all. So what was the verification Gavin saw with his own eyes?
2016年5月2日，一条来自BBC的劲爆新闻[1]轰动了整个币圈——Craig Wright，一位澳大利亚企业家，声称自己是比特币的发明者中本聪。
有人声称自己是中本聪，或者是声称发现了中本聪，这样的事情不是一次两次了。这次比较轰动的原因是，比特币基金会首席科学家Gavin Andresen站出来为Craig Wright做了背书[2]——“我相信Craig Steven Wright就是发明比特币的那个人……我相当确信，我正坐在比特币之父的身边。”( I believe Craig Steven Wright is the person who invented Bitcoin….I was reasonably certain I was sitting next to the Father of Bitcoin. )
消息报出后，人们的质疑声不断，有人甚至认为Gavin Andresen的账号被黑了。因为中本聪要想证明自己，事实上不需要谁来背书，只需要用比特币区块链上第一个交易地址对应的私钥签名一些消息，公开发布出来供大家验证就可以了。
针对这些质疑，Gavin Andresen在接受采访时说：我没有被黑，我相信Craig Steven Wright就是中本聪。并且，他在reddit上发帖[3]解释了他为什么相信Craig Wright就是中本聪。
Gavin Andresen说，他选择了一个段文字("Gavin's favorite number is eleven. CSW" if I recall correctly)，让Craig用在比特币区块链第1块上的地址对应的私钥在这段消息上做了签名。这个签名被拷贝在Gavin提供的一个空的U盘上，然后在一台全新的电脑下载了全新的electrum进行了验证，验证通过。
但是，Gavin Andresen的这一解释并没有打消人们的质疑，因为这只是他的背书和解释，要想说服公众，Craig Wright必须用上述的密码学的方法证明自己——用在区块链上第一个交易地址对应的私钥签名一些消息，公开发布出来。
Craig Wright这样做了——或者说装作这样做了。他发布了一篇长长的图文并茂的博客文章[4]，意图用密码学方法证明自己是中本聪。对这篇博客，Gavin Andresen似乎认为那只是些OpenSSL的用法展示而已，自己的判断并不基于此，对博客的内容没有做出解释。
在这篇文章里，Craig Wright选取了萨特的一段话进行签名。这段话是萨特在1964年发表拒绝接受诺贝尔奖时说的："我的签名是让保罗萨特，还是让保罗萨特——诺贝尔奖获得者，这决不是一回事。"(“If I sign myself Jean-Paul Sartre it is not the same thing as if I sign myself Jean-Paul Sartre, Nobel Prizewinner”)。仔细看过Craig Wright这篇博客文章的人们发现[5]，事实上，这篇文章只是演示了密码学工具的用法，并没有提供任何关于中本聪的非公开信息——Craig Wright确实签名了萨特的这句话，但所用的私钥并非中本聪的私钥。WTF？
那Gavin Andresen亲眼见到的签名和验证过程是怎么回事？目前还是个谜。
根据 Thenextweb 的统计，从比特币发布到现在7 年多时间里，已经有超过 15 个人先后被怀疑是“中本聪”。事实上，Craig Wright曾在2015年12月被广泛报道是中本聪本人，但是后来，一封来自中本聪邮件地址的邮件[6]否认了这个消息:"Not this again. I am not Craig Wright. We are all Satoshi." 这次不知道为什么又沉渣泛起？
